World Community Grid
Did you know your computer can save the world?
With World Community Grid your computer could be responsible for processing the genetic sequence that derives the cure for Muscular Dystrophy Project. World Community Grid runs in the background on your idle computer processing scientific data given over the Internet then passing it back through the Internet to the main computers. This method of computing is called "distributed computing" and allows researchers to leverage computer power around the world without having to buy more hardware.
Here are some amazing statistics about the project:

Members: 296,103
Devices:631,286
Total Run Time: 91,242 years and growing
There are several projects that work on the grid. You can either work on all the projects or have your computer help with one specific project. World Community Grid also has teams. If you are joining the World Community Grid you should join the Denver DataMan team
The World Community Grid has a good website with more information.
Denver DataMan does not recommend using this application if your computer runs slowly. If you have any questions about using this software, contact Denver DataMan for free World Community Grid answers.
Remember, together, you and I can save the world.
